Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to pay VRS dues in six instalments from Oct. 1

Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat has said the Ministry of Steel has decided to facilitate the payment of pending dues to employees of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL) who retired under the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS).

The decision follows his efforts to secure the release of the dues. Mr. Sribharat had earlier met Union Minister for Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy and raised the issue of pending payments to VRS employees.

According to a statement issued by the MP, the RINL management will pay the pending compensation to employees who opted for VRS-2 and VRS-3 in six equal monthly instalments. The payments are scheduled to commence from October 1, 2026.
