The city police on Saturday (August 29, 2026) arrested 104 individuals for their alleged involvement in 91 property offenses during July 2026, and recovered property worth ₹47 lakh.

Addressing a press conference at the police conference hall, Commissioner of Police Shankabratha Bagchi said that during July of this year, a total of 106 cases of property offenses were reported in the city. Of these, the police were able to detect 91 using technical methods. He stated that property worth ₹47.42 lakh was recovered. In addition to the aforementioned property, 423 missing mobile phones worth ₹63.45 lakh were also recovered. The recovered property includes 491.62 grams of gold, 1,645.6 grams of silver, and ₹2.14 lakh in cash, he said.
