Visakha Valley School to host chess championship
Visakha Valley School in Visakhapatnam will host the CBSE South Zone–I Girls Chess Championship from July 23 to 26, 2026. The event aims to promote chess among young female students across the region.

The official poster for the CBSE South Zone–I Girls Chess Championship 2026 was unveiled by District Collector Abhishikth Kishore, at the Collectorate on Sunday.
The tournament will be hosted by Visakha Valley School, Visakhapatnam, and will be held from July 23 to 26. The event is expected to draw a large contingent of budding girl chess players from various CBSE-affiliated schools across the South Zone–I region. During the unveiling ceremony, Mr. Kishore commended the efforts of the organisers in promoting chess among students.
