Visakha Valley School celebrates Telugu Language Day with cultural events

Visakha Valley School marked Telugu Language Day on Saturday with vibrant cultural events commemorating the birth anniversary of Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy Pantulu, the pioneer of the colloquial Telugu movement.

The celebrations, organised by the school’s Telugu department, began with floral tributes paid to the statue of ‘Telugu Talli’ and a portrait of Ramamurthy Pantulu by Principal Eshwari Prabhakar.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal highlighted the significance of the mother tongue, emphasising that expression becomes effortless through the colloquial form. While acknowledging the importance of classical Grandhika Telugu, she noted the necessity of respecting and practicing conversational Telugu in daily life.

Students showcased their heritage through a series of cultural performances that captivated the audience.
