Vinayagar Chaturthi idols immersed in Agni Theertham sea in Rameswaram

Vinayagar idols installed for the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival in Rameswaram were taken out in a procession and immersed in the Agni Theertham sea here on Tuesday evening.

In view of the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival, idols were installed at over 400 locations on behalf of various Hindu organisations in Ramanathapuram district.

The district administration had designated places for the immersion of Vinayagar Chaturthi idols, including the Agni Theertham beach in Rameswaram, Indira Nagar beach in Mandapam, Navabashanam beach in Devipattinam, Narippaiyur beach, Nochichivayal oorani in Ramanathapuram and the Perumal temple area of the Vaigai river in Paramakudi.

In Rameswaram, arrangements were made by Vinayagar temples and Hindu organisations at various places, including Sambai, Sivagami Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Periyakadai Veethi, J.J. Nagar, Amirthapuram, Rakkachiamman Koil Street, Soundariyamman Koil Street, Periyapalli Vasal Street, Malligai Nagar, Muthuramalinga Thevar Nagar, Marudupandiyar Nagar, Cherankottai, Indira Nagar, Verkodu, Manthoppu, Netaji Nagar, Rajagopal Nagar, Ramakrishnapuram and Tsunami Colony.
