Villa did at least have their first shot on target in this season's Premier League – and picked up their first point – but a club who failed to win any of their six games in all competitions last term (and still finished fourth) have yet to register a win after three matches. Or even a goal.
"In my opinion defence is [the key to] winning titles and for us a title is staying in the league because we will always create some chances," commented manager Sergej Jakirovic after watching his side largely keep Champions League opponents at bay.
