Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s reply in the Assembly on Monday failed to address people’s concerns over the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu and instead focused largely on attacking the DMK, according to Puthiya Tamilagam founder K. Krishnasamy.
Mr. Krishnasamy told reporters people had expected the Chief Minister to explain the measures being taken to prevent crimes against children, women and senior citizens as the government completed nearly four months in office.
On corruption, Mr. Krishnasamy said it should not be treated as an issue concerning the DMK alone. Corruption cases had also involved governments headed by former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. “The Chief Minister should be neutral irrespective of the political party involved. His focus should not be only on the DMK,” he said.
