Vijay inspects Koyambedu TTRO plant
Chief Minister J. Joseph Vijay inspected the 45 million litres per day tertiary treatment reverse osmosis (TTRO) plant in Koyambedu. The facility is part of a broader initiative to implement a circular water economy by recycling wastewater for industrial and construction use.

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Monday reviewed the operation of the tertiary treatment reverse osmosis plant with a capacity to treat 45 million litres of sewage a day (mld) at Koyambedu.
Chennai Metrowater has established two TTRO plants in Koyambedu and Kodungaiyur, with a combined capacity to treat 90 mld of wastewater to implement circular water economy. The goal is to further purify second-treated sewage and supply to industries and reduce burden on freshwater sources.
