Vigilance officials seize 423 bags of PDS rice in Rajamahendravaram

The vigilance and revenue officials on Saturday (September 5, 2026) seized a lorry loaded with 21.15 tonnes of rice, supplied through the Public Distribution System, as it was on its way from Vijayawada to Rajamahendravaram city.
In an official release, East Godavari District Joint Collector Y. Megha Swaroop stated that the rice supplied through the PDS was being illegally transported from Vijayawada to Rajamahendravaram city. The lorry was seized on the Gammon bridge.
