Carroll said in a statement on Thursday that Weimar would leave the role to be replaced by Fiona Adamson.

Simon Schulter; Justin McManus Weimar, who had led the Department of Transport and Planning since January 2025, was once the state’s COVID commander and was in charge of the authority tasked with delivering the Commonwealth Games before the government decided it would not host the event in Victoria.
In a message to staff, Weimar said leading the department had been one of the greatest privileges of his career.
