Why it matters
The story underscores the impact of animal attacks and the role of community-driven crowdfunding in supporting victims of medical emergencies.
Nnete Leotlela, 12, is known by his family as a humble, compassionate, brave and smart Mosotho boy who loves and adores everyone he meets.
But his life has taken a turn for the worse after he was viciously attacked by five German Shepherds while on his way to collect his younger brother from aftercare on 6 July.
On his way there in Ha Abia, Maseru, he had mistakenly stopped off at the house next door to his brother’s aftercare, and upon entering the premises, was attacked by a pack of dogs, resulting in serious injuries.
“He rang the intercom, and when the gate opened, he confidently walked in to knock on the door, and that is when five German Shepherd dogs attacked him,” his aunt Maiketso Titisi said.
