Vice-President to be chief guest at Onam week celebrations this year

Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan will take part in this year's State-level Onam Tourism Week celebrations, organised by the Kerala Tourism department. The event, to be organised extensively at 35 venues in the capital city from August 24 to 30, will be formally opened by Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan on August 24, informed Tourism, Culture and Cinema Minister P.C. Vishnunadh here on Tuesday.
This year’s Onam celebrations have been prepared in a way that showcases Kerala’s cultural diversity, tradition, artistic heritage and tourism potential, said Mr. Vishnunadh. More than 340 programmes with an estimated participation of over 3,000 artists will be held at various venues in Thiruvananthapuram.
