Vettri Palligal scheme to be expanded to all 15 blocks in Coimbatore
The School Education Department in Coimbatore is expanding its 'Vettri Palligal' scheme to all 15 educational blocks in the district. This initiative provides government school students with specialized coaching for competitive exams like JEE, NEET, and CLAT.

The School Education Department plans to expand the ‘Vettri Palligal’ scheme, which provides special coaching and career guidance to Class 11 and 12 government school students preparing for competitive examinations such as JEE, NEET, CLAT and CUET, to all 15 educational blocks in Coimbatore district.
At present, eight government higher secondary schools in Mettupalayam, Ashokapuram, S.S. Kulam, Sulur, Thondamuthur, Kinathukadavu, Pollachi and Valparai are functioning as centres.
Students from government higher secondary schools in the vicinity of each centre also attend the programme. Special coaching is provided on Saturdays and Sundays, along with lunch for the participating students.
