Veteran Somali journalist Mohamed Aweys Mudey killed in Germany

Mogadishu (HOL) - Veteran Somali journalist Mohamed Aweys Mudey, widely known as "Boqorka Bartamaha," was killed Friday night in Germany, where he had been living in recent years, Somali officials said.

Mudey was reportedly attacked by a man armed with a knife. The circumstances surrounding his killing remain unclear, and German police have not yet released details about the incident.

In a statement, Somalia's Ministry of Information extended condolences to Mudey's family, relatives and the wider Somali media community.
