VETA doubles number of students enrolled in its centres to 116,468 in 2025/26 from 69,347 it registered in 2022/23
Tanzania's Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) reported a significant increase in student enrollment, reaching over 116,000 in the 2025/26 academic year. The government is expanding infrastructure by constructing 65 new colleges to improve access to market-relevant skills.

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) has significantly increased the number of people enrolled in vocational training programmes, from 69,347 students in the 2022/2023 academic year to 116,468 in 2025/2026.
VETA Director General Anthony Kasore made the remarks on September 4, 2026, while outlining the Authority’s achievements, plans and targets for the 2026/2027 training year.
Kasore said the increase is part of the government’s efforts to ensure that more Tanzanians acquire skills that match labour market demands while also enabling them to pursue self-employment.
