KPCC spokesperson H.A. Venkatesh has condemned Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok’s criticism of the State government’s proposed Bharat Jodo Youth Clubs.
In a statement issued here, Mr. Venkatesh said the Congress government’s initiative was aimed at the holistic development of youth by nurturing leadership and organisational skills. He alleged that the BJP was uncomfortable with the initiative as it sought to empower young people.
He said the Bharat Jodo Youth Clubs were intended to promote social harmony, equality, and participation among people irrespective of caste or religion. The clubs would also encourage healthy lifestyles, sports, leadership development, and organisational abilities among the youth.
