After lengthy negotiations with Warner Bros., he secured the international premiere of Denis Villeneuve's blockbuster Dune at the Venice Film Festival (Mostra). For the 83 rd edition, which runs from September 2 to 12, the artistic director of the Italian film festival was less fortunate. After the film's second part was released at an unusual time in February 2024, Villeneuve declined the invitation to present the final chapter of the trilogy in Venice.
