VCK should grow into a force capable of ruling Tamil Nadu, says Thol. Thirumavalavan

VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan has declared that his party aims to become a ruling force in Tamil Nadu, emphasizing a new alliance with the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. The party conference passed resolutions advocating for state autonomy, social justice, and the protection of Tamil linguistic and cultural rights.
Why it matters
The shift in VCK's political strategy and its alliance with a new regional party signals potential changes in the electoral landscape of Tamil Nadu.
Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) president Thol. Thirumavalavan on Monday said the VCK, now an Election Commission of India-recognised political party, should grow into a force capable of ruling Tamil Nadu.
“Until now, the VCK has been part of alliances led by parties such as the DMK, the AIADMK and the Congress. We are now allied with my dear brother [Chief Minister] C. Joseph Vijay, president of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. The VCK and TVK will now travel together and the party will emerge as a ruling party,” he said while addressing the ‘Tamil nationalist’ public rally at Ulundurpet in Kallakurichi district.
The VCK has emerged as an unavoidable political force in Tamil Nadu, Mr. Thirumavalavan said.
As many as 125 resolutions were passed at the conference.
