VB-G RAM G: Minister orders show-cause notices as 311 panchayats report delay in payments

The RDPR Minister of Karnataka has ordered show-cause notices to over 300 officials due to significant delays in wage payments under the VB-G RAM G scheme. The government aims to address the financial distress of rural workers and prevent migration caused by these payment lapses.
Why it matters
Efficient administration of social welfare schemes is essential for supporting vulnerable populations during economic hardship and drought.
Taking exception to the delay in payment of wages under the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM G) scheme, RDPR Minister B. Eshwar Khandre has ordered the issue of show-cause notices to the officials concerned.
The Minister has instructed authorities to issue show-cause notices to 308 Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs), 12 deputy secretaries and 74 taluk panchayat executive officers for the delay in payment of wages.
The Minister expressed displeasure over the delay in payment of wages in 311 village panchayats across 12 districts, despite having issued written instructions to the CEOs of the 12 Zilla Panchayats that PDOs concerned would be held responsible if beneficiaries did not receive wages within 15 days of completing the work.
