VACB to form special investigation teams for separate CMRL-Exalogic probes

The Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Bureau is forming two special teams to investigate financial allegations involving CMRL, Exalogic Solutions, and prominent political figures. The probes will focus on separate charges of bribery and money laundering.
Why it matters
High-profile corruption investigations involving political leaders have significant implications for governance and public trust in state institutions.
The Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) is set to constitute two separate teams to investigate the cases linked to the alleged financial transactions between CMRL and Exalogic Solutions Private Limited involving Leader of the Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter T. Veena and former Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas. The investigations will focus separately on the alleged bribery transactions and suspected money laundering.
The VACB had registered two cases in connection with the allegations a day ago. The first case, in which Mr. Vijayan is the prime accused and his daughter Ms. Veena, the second accused, concerns the alleged corruption and payments made by CMRL to Exalogic Solutions.
