V.O.C. Port positioned for maritime decarbonisation in ICCT policy brief
The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) has released a policy brief outlining how the V.O. Chidambaranar Port can transition to green shipping. The report suggests the port could become a key node for green fuel in the India-Europe trade route.

In a significant milestone, the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) launched its policy brief, “Positioning V.O. Chidambaranar Port for Maritime Decarbonisation”, at the India Clean Transportation Summit in New Delhi on Tuesday.
According to a press release from the V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, the policy brief was launched during a session titled “India’s Maritime Transition in a Net Zero World: Positioning India for the Next Era of Global Shipping” by Ketan Gore, researcher, ICCT.
The launch was attended by Amitabh Kumar, former Director General of Shipping and Independent Director, The Great Eastern Shipping Company; Josefine Pallesen, Maritime Counsellor, Embassy of Denmark; A. Ramasamy, Chief Mechanical Engineer, V.O.C. Port Authority; and Prashant S. Widge, Executive Director, Smart Freight Centre-India.
