Uttam seeks Chhattisgarh NOC for Sammakka Sagar project
Telangana's Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has requested a No Objection Certificate from Chhattisgarh to fully utilize the Sammakka Sagar Project. The project aims to stabilize irrigation for over 4 lakh acres and provide drinking water to local villages.

Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has sought an early No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Chhattisgarh for the Sammakka Sarakka barrage, officially known as the Sammakka Sagar Project, assuring that Telangana would provide full compensation for land and houses in the neighbouring State that would be submerged by the project.
Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy met Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in New Delhi on Friday and sought his cooperation to enable Telangana to store water up to the barrage’s full reservoir level and realise its intended irrigation benefits.
“Telangana will pay full compensation for the land and houses that will be submerged in Chhattisgarh. We request the State Government to issue the NOC at the earliest to enable us to store water fully in the barrage,” he said.
