Use education to serve society, students told
Minister A.M. Shahjahan addressed students at Jamal Mohamed College's Founders' Day, urging them to use their education to support marginalized communities. The event also featured award presentations for excellence in science and professional achievement.

Though students may have diverse ambitions, they should proactively use their education to help the marginalised and economically backward sections of society, A.M. Shahjahan, Minister for Minorities Welfare, said in Tiruchi on Friday.
Addressing the Founders’ Day programme of the Jamal Mohamed College on Friday, the Minister said that the firm friendship between N.M. Khaja Mian Rowther and M. Jamal Mohamed had laid the foundation of the educational institutions that had empowered innumerable students since its establishment in 1951.
“The college has played an important role in shaping future leaders of the nation, and everyone should emulate the founders to create opportunities for the less fortunate,” Mr. Shajahan said.
S. Ahmed Meeran, managing director, The Professional Couriers, received the Jamalian Award for 2026.
