US returnee beats father to death: How row over money turned deadly

AHMEDABAD: A dispute over money between an estranged couple turned deadly in Kalol when their son, who had returned from the US six months ago, allegedly beat his father to death with a wooden stick.Police said Kalpesh Prajapati, 40, went to confront his father, Kantilal, after the latter allegedly assaulted Kalpesh’s mother during the dispute on Tuesday.The confrontation turned violent, with Kalpesh allegedly attacking him until he collapsed and later died. Kalpesh was traced and arrested in Kalol town in the evening.Family had been living separately for 16 yearsAccording to Kalol City police, Kalpesh lived with his mother, Madhu, 60, at Sankalp Residency near Sudarshan Crossroads.
