Unscheduled power outages trouble electricity consumers

Unannounced power outages in rural areas of the district are causing hardship to consumers.

The power outages, which were occasional in May and June, have become frequent in recent weeks. The offices of the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation continue to receive complaints of power disruptions from different parts of the district.

According to sources, consumers experienced frequent disruptions in power supply in areas such as Lalguid, Anbil, Pullambadi, Anandimedu, Koogur, Sathamangalam, Mela Valadi and Keela Valadi. Similarly, residents of Samayapuram, Manachanallur, Nochiam, Renga Garden, Purushotham Nagar, Masi Nagar, Nerkuppai have been facing power disruptions. There were complaints of irregular power supply in Manapparai, Vaiyampatti and other areas as well.
