The Union Cabinet on Tuesday (October 6, 2026) passed a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years of continuous leadership as head of government.
The resolution traced how Mr. Modi carried Gujarat ’s initiatives to the national stage. “PM Modi’s sensitivity towards poverty grew from watching his mother struggle with everyday hardships and encountering deprivation during his travels,” it said, linking his experiences with schemes providing homes, water, banking, and healthcare.
It listed initiatives aimed at empowering women, encouraging startups, expanding opportunities for youth, supporting farmers and vulnerable tribal communities, also noting that over 25 crore people had been lifted out of poverty.
