Unfancied Buddy speeds to victory in the Deccan Derby

The 30-to-1 outsider horse 'Buddy' won the Hyderabad Deccan Derby, marking a major upset in the event. The victory was the first Derby win for trainer Magan Singh Parmar.

The 30-to-1 rank outsider Buddy, ridden by Mukesh Kumar, pulled off a major upset by winning the Race2win Foundation Hyderabad Deccan Derby (Gr. 1), the blue riband of the Hyderabad Monsoon Races staged here on Sunday (Oct. 4). The winner is owned by M/s. Subodh Kumar Ananthula & Prabhakar Chowdary Tripuraneni and trained by Magan Singh Parmar.
