A 25-year-old undertrial at the Mahila court in Udhagamandalam charged with murder fractured both his legs after he reportedly jumped from the first floor of the court premises while attempting to flee from the police after his bail was canceled.

The man, identified as Bharath, a resident of Thottlingi in Masinagudi, had been charged with murder in 2024 and was released on bail with the case being heard at the Mahila court in Udhagamandalam. It has been alleged that Bharath had been threatening the family of the victim while out on bail, leading to the cancellation of his bail.
