Underage boy rides two-wheeler, mother gets killed in accident

A 17-year-old boy was involved in a fatal two-wheeler accident in Chennai that resulted in the death of his mother. The teenager was riding without a license, and the incident is currently under police investigation.

A 17-year-old boy riding a two-wheeler hit another bike in Tondiarpet, in which his mother, who was riding pillion, died on Tuesday night.
Mariammal, 40, her son and the rider of the other two-wheeler, Senthilkumar, 45, were taken to Government Stanley Hospital by passerby after the accident on Vallalar Street in Tondiarpet.
Mariammal was declared dead on arrival, while the two injured persons are undergoing treatment. Police said the boy, a Class 12 student, was underage but his mother had allowed him to ride the two-wheeler.
Washermenpet Traffic Investigation Wing registered a case and are investigating.
