Unauthorised parking: Notices issued to 382 abandoned or unused vehicles in Mysuru
The Mysuru City Corporation has begun a drive to remove 382 abandoned vehicles from public roads and footpaths. Owners have been given seven days to relocate their vehicles before the city takes action to tow, auction, or scrap them.

The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) on Tuesday (August 25) started affixing notices on abandoned or unused vehicles parked on roads, footpaths and other public places for a long period of time.
The MCC had conducted a survey and identified a total of 382 such abandoned vehicles in its limits.
A drive to remove such vehicles was launched on Tuesday with MCC Commissioner M.K. Savitha affixing the notices.
Parking such vehicles on public roads and footpaths obstructs public movement and affects the cleanliness and aesthetics of the city, said a statement by MCC while also pointing out that some of the vehicles could become dumping spots for waste and facilitate illegal activities and the breeding of disease-carrying vectors, including mosquitoes.
