At least six people were killed in a Ukrainian rocket attack in the western Belgorod region, local authorities said Monday morning.

In a post on Telegram, Acting Belgorod region Governor Aleksander Shuvaev said four others were wounded in the attack, which took place in the village of Koloskovo, located around 24 kilometers (15 miles) from the border with Ukraine.

Shuvaev said a 14-year-old was among the injured. He said the rocket attack also damaged a "structure" and a vehicle.

In a separate drone strike in the southern Astrakhan region, local authorities said a woman was killed. They said the drones targeted an industrial facility but did not provide further details.

The deadly attacks came a day after Russia and Ukraine exchanged strikes deep inside each other's territories, killing 19 people on both sides.
