Ukrainian Man Found Dead in Canggu Home After Friend Comes for His Dog

CANGGU, Bali — A 40-year-old Ukrainian national was found dead inside a rented home in Canggu after a friend came to collect his dog following several days without contact.
The man, identified by his initials as VK, was found on the evening of October 7 at a rented property in Banjar Uma Buluh, Canggu Village, North Kuta.
According to police, a 53-year-old French national identified as PK had tried to contact VK for around five days but received no response.
PK later went to the property at around 8:30 p.m. to collect VK’s dog.
When he arrived, he reportedly noticed a strong smell coming from inside the house and sought help from local residents, pecalang and neighbourhood officials.
