On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Pope Leo appointed 12 new consultors to the Vatican’s Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, a department earlier established by Pope Francis in 2016 to take care of the Church’s efforts in the areas of peace, migration, health and ecology.
The other appointees include Clemens Sedmak, a professor of social ethics and director of Nanovic Institute for European Studies and faculty member at the University of Notre Dame (USA), Karthryn A. Koch, President and Chief executive officer of Trust Company of West in Los Angeles, Monsignor Peter Klavogt, rector of the Pontifical college of Santa Maria in Camposanto in Rome, Fr Francesco Coluccia, director of the office of healthcare Ministry of the Archdiocese of Otranto, Italy.
