The melodrama at Uganda’s High Commission, Abuja, Nigeria has climaxed with the removal of one of the key actors, Mr Eriya Tusubira, the First Secretary, who, in not going down without a fight, fired off an incendiary missive accusing several Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials of corruption and cover-up.
On Thursday last week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary, Mr Vincent Bagiire, yielded and signed off recall orders for Mr Tusubira to return to Kampala not later than August 31. “In the interest of service and the Uganda High Commission Abuja where you have been serving, it has been decided that you be recalled with immediate effect,” Mr Bagiire wrote on August 20.
