Uganda Nears First Crude Export as Tanzania Pipeline Hits 92.7%, February 2027 Debut Set

email facebook linkedin twitter Whatsapp Uganda could export its first crude oil cargo through Tanzania in February or early March 2027, with the 1,443-kilometer EACOP pipeline now 92.7% complete. EACOP will give landlocked Uganda a direct route to international oil markets while creating transit activity for Tanzania through the port of Tanga. The pipeline will carry crude from the Tilenga and Kingfisher fields, whose combined production is expected to reach about 230,000 barrels per day. Uganda is set to ship its first crude oil cargo from Tanzania in February 2027, marking the start of exports through the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP). The 1,443-kilometer pipeline, which will link Uganda’s oil fields to the marine terminal in Tanga, is 92.7% complete.
