UEFA set for emergency meeting on FIFA World Cup proposal
UEFA and other football governing bodies have threatened to boycott FIFA competitions if the organization proceeds with plans to sell a minority stake in a new commercial subsidiary. The opposition centers on the principle that the World Cup should not be treated as a private investment product.

The subsidiary would be responsible for FIFA's commercial rights like broadcast, sponsorship, ticketing and licensing contracts for its competitions, including the World Cup .
UEFA's 55 members met to discuss a response to FIFA President Gianni Infantino's controversial plans.
