France secured a narrow victory against Türkiye in their UEFA Nations League opener thanks to a Kylian Mbappé goal assisted by Michael Olise. The match was marred by a late injury to Mbappé and a red card for the Turkish goalkeeper.

Michael Olise registered yet another assist in France colors as Zinedine Zidane started his much-awaited era with a narrow win in Türkiye. The two-time World Cup winners struggled to create multiple chances, but a solitary Kylian Mbappé strike was enough to start their UEFA Nations League campaign with three points.
After limiting their prestigious opponents in the first half, the hosts paid for their reckless buildup play ten minutes after the restart. Olise, who tied Pele's World Cup record of seven assists in a single tournament, produced a pinpoint pass in the direction of his captain to seal France's victory.
However, Mbappé had to be subbed off immediately with an injury. It remains to be seen whether the Ballon d'Or hopeful stays with the national team for the remaining three games as further tests are required to fully understand the extent of the injury.
