Udupi MLA inaugurates new bathing ghat of Sheembra Siddhi Vinayak temple
Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna has inaugurated a new bathing ghat at the Sheembra Siddhi Vinayak temple near Manipal. The project, funded by the Minor Irrigation Department at a cost of ₹2.25 crore, replaces an older structure damaged by river erosion.

Yashpal Suvarna, Udupi MLA, inaugurated the new ‘snana ghatta’ (bathing ghat) of Moodu Perampalli Sheembra Siddhi Vinayak temple, near Manipal, on Tuesday.
The bathing ghat has been constructed on the bank of Swarna river by investing ₹2.25 crore.
The MLA said that the old bathing ghat of the temple had been damaged owing to severe river erosion. Hence devotees were finding it difficult to take a dip in the river especially on Krishnangaraka Chaturdashi day every year. The Minor Irrigation Department sanctioned fund to construct the new bathing ghat as per the request of the managing committee of the temple.
