Udupi Krishna Mutt to celebrate Janmasthami for three days from September 4
The Udupi Krishna Mutt has announced a three-day celebration for Krishna Janmashtami and Vitlapindi starting September 4. The event will feature traditional rituals, cultural performances, and a procession of the Lord Krishna idol.

Krishna Mutt in Udupi will celebrate Krishna Janmashtami on September 4 and Krishna Leelotsava which is also called Vitlapindi at Car Street on September 5. The celebrations will conclude on September 6, according to paryaya seer and pontiff of Shiroor Mutt Vedavardhana Tirtha.
Addressing a press conference in Udupi on Tuesday, he said that Argya Pradhana to Lord Krishna will be held at 12.12 a.m. on September 5. Maha Pooja and Annasantharpane will be held in the morning on September 5, and various competitions including tiger costume dance have been organised in the Rajangana later.
A procession of the idol of Lord Krishna in a golden chariot will be taken out at Car Street at 3.30 p.m. As part of the Vitlapindi, a wrestling performance will be held by invited wrestling experts on a special stage at the Rathabidi, which will be one of the main attractions of the festival.
