‘Udta Teer’: Ayushmann Khurrana’s comedy-drama gets new release date
The release of the Hindi comedy-drama 'Udta Teer', starring Ayushmann Khurrana, has been postponed from October 9 to October 23. The producers cited the need for a better theatrical release window to avoid competition with other major films.
Why it matters
Strategic release scheduling is a critical component of the film industry's business model for maximizing box office revenue.
The release date of Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming comedy-drama Udta Teer has been postponed. The film, which was earlier set to be released in theatres on October 9, will now be released on October 23, the makers announced on Friday (October 2, 2026).
In a press release, the makers said that they wanted to give the film “a cleaner release window and a stronger theatrical runway instead of compromising on screens in a suddenly crowded marketplace.”
Its earlier release date would have placed the film just a week after the release of Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam The Conclusion , which is expected to work well at the box office.
