The department identified the deceased as Henry Mukolwe Macharia, born on August 19, 1998, who died of natural causes in Spring Lake on September 11.
Police said efforts to locate Macharia’s relatives have so far been unsuccessful, prompting an appeal to members of the public who may have information about his family or relatives.
“On September 11, 2026, Henry Mukolwe Macharia, DOB 8/19/1998, died of natural causes in Spring Lake, NC. Attempts to locate the family of Macharia have been unsuccessful,” stated the department.
