Lam Research Corp, a California-based supplier of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and services, said on Wednesday (September 16, 2026) it would invest around ₹10,000 crore to scale up its footprint in India.

Lam intends to make the new investment over the next several years to add its first silicon component manufacturing facility in the country and augment its advanced research and development operations in Bengaluru.

According to the firm, the planned investment, whose announcement comes a day prior to SEMICON India 2026, reflects Lam’s long-term approach to invest across key aspects of the semiconductor ecosystem in the country. Lam has been operating in the Indian semiconductor ecosystem for over 25 years, including operating a large engineering hub and an most advanced chip research and development (R&D) laboratories.
