Two youth murder man, share selfie, videos

Police in Coimbatore are searching for two individuals, including a minor, who allegedly murdered an acquaintance and shared photos and videos of the crime on Instagram. The motive is suspected to be retaliation for the victim advising them against creating public nuisances.

Police were on the lookout for two persons, including a juvenile, who allegedly murdered a youth, one of their acquintances, by slitting his throat near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore district early on Thursday. The duo also photographed the act and took a photo with the corpse, which they shared on Instagram, police said.
The deceased was identified as S. Aswin (22), a resident of Sikkalampalayam near Kinathukadavu.
According to police, Aswin went to the house of a friend, who resides alone in the locality, on Wednesday night and consumed alcohol with him. Aswin’s acquintances Mathesh (22) and a 16-year-old boy, from the same locality, went to the house and murdered him by slitting his throat and assaulting him with a hammer around 1.45 a.m. on Thursday. Aswin’s friend was asleep under the influence of alcohol in another room of the house when the crime took place, said police.
