Two women were killed in a road accident at Mudivaithanenthal in the district on Monday.

Police said B. Sathya, 40, and D. Amutha, 45, both from Nazareth, were returning home from Thoothukudi on a scooter in the night. When they were crossing Mudivaithanenthal, a speeding car hit the scooter, killing both women on the spot. Pudukottai police have registered a case.
