Two boys were killed, and two others injured after the two-wheeler they were travelling on rammed into a roadside signboard at Poovarasakudi in Pudukottai district on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Kannan, 16, and Akshay Karthik,14.

According to police sources, Kannan was riding the two-wheeler at high speed with three others riding pillion when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a roadside signboard. Kannan and Akshay died on the spot.

The other two boys, Mithun, 14, and Santhosh, 14, who sustained injuries, are undergoing treatment at Thanjavur government hospital and at a private hospital in Tiruchi, respectively.
