Two special trains for southern district during Gandhi Jayanthi
Southern Railway is introducing special train services to manage passenger demand during the Gandhi Jayanthi holiday period. The services include express and MEMU trains connecting Tambaram with southern districts like Tenkasi and Manamadurai.

Southern Railway would run two special trains (Trains on Demand) to clear extra rush of passengers during Gandhi Jayanthi.
Tambaram – Tenkasi/Sengottai –Tambaram Express:
Train No. 06123 Tambaram – Tenkasi Express Special would leave Tambaram at 11.55 p.m. on October 1 (Thursday) and reach Tenkasi at 12.15 p.m. the next day, a statement said. Train No. 06124 Sengottai –Tambaram Express Special will leave Sengottai at 5.40 p.m. on October 4 (Sunday) and reach Tambaram at 4.30 a.m., the next day.
The train would have one AC 2-tier coach, two AC 3-tier coaches, 12 sleeper class coaches, four general second class coaches and two second class coaches for differently abled passengers.
The trains would stop at Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vriddachalam, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Srivilliputtur, Rajapalayam, Sankarankoil, Kadayanallur and Tenkasi.
