Two 25-year-old men have died after collapsing during the Great North Run in the north-east of England. Organizers confirmed the deaths occurred despite medical intervention and are currently supporting the families involved.

Two 25-year-old men have died after collapsing during the Great North Run, the event's organiser said.
Both participants died after falling ill on the half marathon route on Sunday, which runs from Newcastle to South Shields.
The Great Run Company said both men were from the north-east of England and passed away despite the best efforts of the event's medical team.
A spokesperson said the causes of death will be determined in due course.
