Two railway bedroll attendants held for stealing gold chain worth ₹1.5 lakh on Duronto Express

Two bedroll attendants working aboard the Duronto Express were apprehended by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Secunderabad for allegedly stealing a gold black-bead chain with a diamond pendant worth ₹1.5 lakh from a passenger.

The accused, Rahul Kumar, 31, and Suresh Paswan, 44, both natives of Bihar, were apprehended on Monday, September 21. The 22-gram gold chain was recovered from their possession, police said. Both worked as bedroll attendants on Train No. 22203 Duronto Express through a private bedroll supplier.

According to the GRP, Kumar was on duty in the B-10 coach when the train reached Secunderabad railway station on September 16. While collecting blankets from passengers, he allegedly found the gold chain and took it instead of returning it.
