Two persons drown in Velankanni sea

Two persons drowned in the sea at Velankanni in Nagapattinam district on Wednesday.
Police identified the deceased as J. Vincent, 27, and D. Maria, 27, both from Kodaikanal.
A group of 15 tourists from Kodaikanal arrived in Velankanni on Monday. Vincent and Maria, who went into the sea for a bath, were swept away by the waves. Their bodies were recovered and brought ashore by Velankanni Coastal Police and Fire and Rescue Services personnel. The bodies were subsequently sent to Nagapattinam Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.
