Two people are in hospital with critical injuries after a neighbour reported hearing a commotion at a Glendene property before midnight.
Police were called to the property on Kirby St at 11.40pm to reports of a disorder.
Waitematā CIB Acting Detective Inspector Megan Goldie said that on arrival, three people had “suffered injuries that appeared to be consistent with knife wounds”.
A neighbour living next door told the Herald they went to the property after hearing yelling and crying just before midnight.
“I woke up and listened for a minute to make sure and then got my brother to check he also heard it.
“We went into the house and saw blood everywhere.”
A baby was one of those who had been badly injured.
